This quiet beach is known for its snorkeling. There are no lifeguards available so do exercise caution when using the beach and surrounding area.
The beach and surrounding areas are well maintained by The Barbados National Conservation Commission. A bandstand, flanked by lush native flora, sits in the middle of the walkway and introduces the beautiful white sand beach of Fitts Village.
Several guest houses are located farther inland, and the residing guests find Fitts Village Beach convenient because of the easy walking distance.
For an unforgettable dining experience, Il Tempio, just steps away, offers fine Italian cuisine and magnificent waterfront views. The beach/restaurant duo pairs up and sets itself apart from the crowd, creating a serene environment in the midst of an active thruway.
By public transportation:
Convenient public transportation to the beach makes it a good choice when beach hunting as the beach is just steps away from the main road and its many amenities.
All public buses, ZR vans and mini vans travel along this west coast route making it the perfect choice when beach hunting. Buses leave from the lower Broad Street bus depot (Bridgetown) and travel to all West Coast points. Just tell your bus driver that you would like to get off at Fitts Village Beach.
The beach is located adjacent to Jordan's Supermarket on Highway 1 or the main West Coast Road. If you are leaving from the Bridgetown area, follow the one-way traffic out of the city center from the main street, Broad Street.
Make a u-turn at Heroes Square to access Princess Alice Highway. Turn right just before entering the Bridgetown cruise terminal.
Bear right at the first rotary and then turn left onto the Spring Garden Highway. You will pass Brandons Beach on the left and as you approach the top of the hill, you will see the second rotary. Bear left. You are now on the West Coast. Continue along this road for about 2 miles until you see the sign for Fitts Village.
