Miami Beach Barbados

Yes... there's one in Barbados too!

Enterprise Beach, also known as Miami Beach, has been a popular beach with locals and visitors alike for as long as I can remember. Who could resist one of the best beaches in Barbados with its velvety sand and calm, crystal clear water.

The beach is shaded and is a welcome treat from the blazing rays of the sun after an invigorating swim.

Looking for a quick bite? The beach canteen provides icy cold drinks and light fare.

The beach road makes for a nice stroll and sometimes you can see the residents jogging, walking, or biking during the early morning hours as they make their way towards the beach to finish off with a good swim.

A quick walk farther south gives way to a slight elevation with picturesque views of the ocean.

Had it not been for the isolated park bench sitting in the middle of the elevation, most people would probably just drive, jog, or segway by without a moment's notice.  But this bench beckons, and from this vantage point, you can witness the most spectacular sunsets ever over Oistins Bay.

Oistins is an old fishing village that still operates today.  By day, it’s business as usual.  By night - especially on weekends - the town takes on a life of its ownwith great music, food, good crowds, and local vendors.  If you would like to mingle with local Barbadians, then this is the spot.

The area is mostly residential but also features rental properties sprinkled throughout including Little Arches, a quaint Mediterranean-style boutique hotel (adults only).

A delicious meal is always a great way to end the day, and as luck would have it, you won’t have to go far. In clear view just a few steps away is Café Luna, bringing with it an ambiance for a peaceful and romantic evening.

The beach is located on Enterprise Beach Road, about a quarter of a mile west of Highway 7 on the South Coast of Barbados.

It is approximately 2-3 minutes from Oistins, 12 minutes from the Grantley Adams International Airport and 25 minutes from Bridgetown.

Here's a fun way to get around. Hop on a segway for a quick ride along the beach road.

Here's how to get to Miami Beach

By Public Transportation:

All public buses and private mini buses travel along this South Coast route on a daily basis. Access to the beach is at the Oistins Post Office stop. Follow the pathway from there to the beach.

By car:

The best way to get to this top beach from Bridgetown or any other point on the South Coast is to drive along Highway 7 until you reach the fishing village of Oistins.

Highway 7 splits after passing the Oistins Police Station and Oistins Post Office. Take the right fork in the road and turn right at Atlantic Shores (at Bloomingdale Apartments).

Continue 2-3 minutes west towards the beach bearing right at the intersection. Turn right at Enterprise Beach Road. The beach is just straight ahead. Beach parking is easy or you can opt for the nearby street parking.

Hungry? Grab delicious food at the canteen.
