First time travelling to Barbados

by HAILEY
(UK)

I'm going out there November 1st for ten days but am worried about the weather, I keep reading November is the wettest month! How much rain should I expect to see whilst I'm out there? Will it just be short spurts or will it last all day? Someone please let me know whether its worth changing my dates as I'm really looking forward to it and some nice sunny beaches

Hi Hailey,

Thanks for reaching out.

Weather patterns have changed globally, and Barbados is no exception. However, based on my own personal experience, I can safely say that your chances of experiencing good weather (despite what you have read) are high. Chances are it will rain as November falls within the hurricane season period but it never rains in Barbados all day. "Wettest Month" just means there is a higher probability that the island will experience torrential spurts as opposed to raining non-stop all day, every day. Thing is, when it rains in Barbados, it clears up just as quickly.

November just happens to be one of my favorite times to visit the island because it is not as hot as July and August and the breezy trade winds make the days quite pleasant. Call it coincidental, but for the past 20+ I have never experienced bad weather in November. Sometimes a little rain. Other times no rain at all, but never debilitating weather.

Hope this helps!
Althea
