Crane Beach Barbados

Why is the Crane Beach Barbados one of the top beaches in Barbados?  I’m glad you asked.

This beach is certainly no stranger to the “Best of” list.  It can be found on the cover of many travel magazines worldwide.  Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous voted the Crane Beach Barbados as one of the 10 best beaches in the world, and Best Caribbean Beach by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers Choice 2015

I totally agree.

Set against a backdrop of small cliffs, the Crane Beach does not compete for space.  The atmosphere is open and inviting with plenty of room for visitors to lounge and take in the natural beauty of this pristine beach.  As you gaze upon the turquoise water and powdery pink sand, it is easy to see why this beach was voted one of the Best Caribbean beaches and one of the top beaches in Barbados.

The East Coast of Barbados has big waves and naturally attracts surfers.  As you travel southeast, the waves tend to lose some of their intensity but still do not present ideal conditions for swimming in some areas.

The waves at the Crane Beach can be choppy so do pay attention to any red flags posted on the beach indicating that it is not safe to swim.

The hotel provides access to the beach for those who are physically challenged by way of a staircase and glass elevator.

How to Get There

By public transportation:

All public buses and privately owned mini buses travel this route daily.  The nearest bus stop is conveniently located just outside the entrance to the Crane Resort.

By car:

There are several ways to reach the Crane Beach but the easiest way, if you’re not familiar with the Barbados roadways, is to begin at the Grantley Adams International Airport.  Take the Tom Adams Highway east for about 2 miles to Highway 4B.  Make right to Crane Resort.

It is easy to get lost in Barbados as signage is poor in some areas, especially on country back roads.  To avoid any navigational hiccups, you can rent a GPS from most car rental agencies for about US $5 per day.
