The East Coast of Barbados has big waves and naturally attracts surfers. As you travel southeast, the waves tend to lose some of their intensity but still do not present ideal conditions for swimming in some areas.
The waves at the Crane Beach can be choppy so do pay attention to any red flags posted on the beach indicating that it is not safe to swim.
The hotel provides access to the beach for those who are physically challenged by way of a staircase and glass elevator.
By public transportation:
All public buses and privately owned mini buses travel this route daily. The nearest bus stop is conveniently located just outside the entrance to the Crane Resort.
There are several ways to reach the Crane Beach but the easiest way, if you’re not familiar with the Barbados roadways, is to begin at the Grantley Adams International Airport. Take the Tom Adams Highway east for about 2 miles to Highway 4B. Make right to Crane Resort.
It is easy to get lost in Barbados as signage is poor in some areas, especially on country back roads. To avoid any navigational hiccups, you can rent a GPS from most car rental agencies for about US $5 per day.
A trip to Barbados would not be complete without a visit to Crane Beach Barbados. Take a tour of the resort and rooms and see why everyone raves about this hotel and the beach that carries its name. The views alone are worth it.
